Koi Paper Fish
Handmade in Japan’s serene forests, our koinobori fish are crafted in collaboration with one of Japan’s oldest artisans. Each streamer is made from delicate sheets of washi paper and individually printed and painted by hand, making every koinobori unique—a small piece of art.
Traditionally flown on Japan’s Children’s Day, May 5th, these koinobori streamers represent resilience, courage, strength, and love. Koi fish are admired for their ability to swim upstream and live for over a century. By hanging the koi fish outside on this special day, parents wish for their children to grow up with these qualities.
