Aoyama: A Hidden Gem in Tokyo
Aoyama is where we always stay when we’re in Tokyo. It’s got the perfect blend of local charm, calm spaces, and inspiring design. Omotesando Avenue runs through the heart of Aoyama, home to the iconic Prada building and several Issey Miyake stores—one of our favorite Japanese designers. At the end of Omotesando, you’ll find the Nezu Museum with its beautiful Japanese garden and tea house, an ideal spot for a quiet break.
We love Aoyama because it’s both relaxed and full of creative energy, with unique architecture and interesting people. And it’s close to everything—Harajuku, Shibuya, and the Meiji Shrine are all within walking distance, making it the perfect base for exploring Tokyo.
INSIDER'S TIP
Take a walk down the quieter side streets for a slower pace and more local feel. And if you’re into architecture, don’t miss the Prada building’s striking design on Omotesando. Aoyama has a way of revealing hidden gems when you slow down and explore—it’s a place that rewards curiosity.
